Duterte, Marcos top overseas absentee voting

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., topped the overseas absentee voting (OAV) for president and vice president in the May 9 elections.

Data released by Commission on Elections Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said that Duterte had 313,346 votes followed by Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas with 41,263.

For the vice presidential race, Marcos had the most votes with 176,669 followed by Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo with 89,935.

The Comelec, sitting as the national board of canvassers, finished canvassing all the 59 certificates of canvass from Philippine posts abroad last Saturday.

The Comelec-office for overseas voting said 432,706 overseas Filipinos cast their votes for a 31.44 percent voter turnout.

There are 1.3 million registered overseas Filipino voters. (Eagle News)
