(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, June 13, ordered members of the Presidential Security Group to remove the bulletproof glass panel that had been placed by the podium to protect him.

In asking the PSG to do this during an event in General Santos City, Duterte asked why he would be shot at if he had done nothing wrong.

The President led  the ceremonial distribution of 12,548 Certificates of Land Ownership Awards to 13,585 agrarian reform beneficiaries of Region XII at the Barangay Lagao Gymnasium.

“Tanggalin niyo nga ito. Ayoko magsalita. Gusto ko ‘pag namatay ako kayo ang sisisihin,” he joked in Cebuano.

His statements drew applause from members of the audience.

The PSG first installed the bulletproof glass panel during an April 2 speaking event of the President in Malabon.

The PSG had said the glass was to protect the President, who was speaking in an open area.

The installation of the panel was repeated in other events.
