Duterte promotes DOJ prosecutor behind filing of charges vs Taguba, 8 others over shabu shipment mess

(Eagle News)– The  Department of Justice prosecutor who handled the criminal charges filed against suspects tagged in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment mess has been promoted.

DOJ Assistant Prosecutor Aristotle Reyes has been appointed as the new judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 15 in Lucena City, Quezon Province.

Reyes  led the DOJ investigating panel who filed criminal charges against Mark Taguba and eight others over the entry of shabu via Customs express lanes in May.

The Manila RTC Branch 46 has issued arrest warrants against eight of the nine respondents.

Of the eight, two–Taguba and Eirene Mae Tatad— have been arrested and are now detained.
