Duterte sacks Nayong Pilipino Foundation board members

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has sacked the board of directors of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said this was over their supposed lease contract with a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s Landing International Development Ltd that was disadvantageous to the government.

“In addition….the President has instructed a review of the Contract of Lease entered by NPFI with Landing Resorts Philippines Development Corp., which the Chief Executive described, in his own words, as ‘flawed,’ in that it was entered into without public bidding and was disadvantageous to the government,” Roque said.

The NPFI is an attached agency of the Department of Tourism.

Duterte has been known to fire his officials over graft and corruption.
