(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, July 23, reiterated his hard stance against corruption, saying he would continue to go after corrupt government workers.
“(Corruption) sucks the morale of the dedicated and honest government workers. Corruption destroys..it is the innocent who will suffer and bear its horrible consequences,” he said.
He said while this was ongoing, the government also “continue(s) to enhance delivery of frontline services.”
He thanked Congress for the passage of the Ease of Doing Business Act, which is “significant.”
“We need to sustain the momentum. I hereby direct all government units to faithfully implement this law and simply simplify the process..Hinihingi ko yan sa lahat ng gobyerno under my control and supervision. Wag kayong magkamali,” he said, calling the attention of government agencies he said had red tape.
“Our people deserve effective services. They deserve nothing less. Kayo lang ang ayaw,” he added.
