Duterte says video claiming son Paolo linked to illegal drugs mere propaganda; Trillanes, yellow group behind it, he adds

(Eagle News)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, April 4, dismissed as propaganda the video that showed a man claiming his son Paolo Duterte was linked to illegal drug activities.

“Well, that is a propaganda that has been repeated all the time. Alam ko propaganda na ‘yan,” Duterte said.

According to Duterte, the allegations were too repetitive.

He said he believed Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and the “yellow” group were behind the video, echoing the statement of his son.

“So hinahayaan ko na lang ‘yan si Trillanes because that is — that has become his passion. Hindi na ako pumapatol sa ano,” Duterte said.

In the video, a man wearing a hoodie who identified himself as Bikoy alleged the presidential son used two code names—POLODELTA-TSG01 and ALPHA TIERRA-0029–to receive kickbacks from a supposed drug syndicate.

He said the money would be deposited to the bank accounts under the name of Agriculture Undersecretary Waldo Carpio, the brother of Manases Carpio, husband of presidential daughter and Davao Mayor Sara Duterte.

The Palace had dismissed the video as “black propaganda.”

Paolo Duterte, for his part, denied all the allegations, and said he would file a “string of other cases” against Trillanes.
