Duterte sets AFP chief Año for DILG helm

(Eagle News)– President Rodrigo Duterte announced on Wednesday (May 10) that Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief General Eduardo Año will be his next secretary for the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Duterte presented Año during his pre-departure media conference at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) before he left for Cambodia to attend the World Economic Forum.

“You really want to know, who’s the next? May I call upon the Chief of Staff? You are now facing the next DILG secretary,” Duterte said.

Año will serve as AFP chief until he retires in October.
