(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a law mandating bigger license plates in motorcycles.
Under Republic Act 11235 signed by Duterte on March 8, the Land Transportation Office should also make the license plates color-coded, depending on the region where the vehicle was registered.
The law said the license plates should be placed in front and at the back of the motorcycle.
Motorcycle owners whose number plates do not conform to these rules should again renew their registration and apply for the new plates not later than June 30, the law said.
The LTO, for its part, should release the new plates before or on December 31.
The penal provisions of the the law shall take effect after December 31.
