Duterte slams Acierto; says dismissed policeman also linked to Jee Ick Joo killing

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, March 26, slammed dismissed police colonel Eduardo Acierto, whom he described as a corrupt (former) policeman who was also involved in the killing of South Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo.

Duterte made the comments after Acierto, who has been in hiding since October last year, after he was linked to the illegal drugs in magnetic lifters last year, said the  chief executive’s former economic adviser Michael Yang and another Chinese national Allan Lim was  linked to illegal drug activities.

Acierto had said he gave the report to the Philippine National Police under then PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa but he said this was ignored.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for its part said it investigated Yang but found no evidence to back up claims he was into illegal drugs.

“Huwag kayong maniwala… lalo na itong si Acierto,” Duterte, who himself cleared Yang,  said.

According to Duterte, he knew Acierto to be corrupt, being behind the sale of AK-47 rifles to New People’s Army rebels.

Acierto has been charged in connection with this.

“Alam ko na siya na nag-kikidnap ng mga Chinese, pati ‘yung Koreano na pinatay doon sa Crame, siya ‘yun. T**g inang itong Acierto na ‘to,” the President said.

He was referring to Jee, who was kidnapped by some operatives of the now-defunct PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group who had falsely accused him of being involved in illegal drugs in 2016.

His body was later found in Camp Crame.

Acierto was the officer-in-charge of the PNP-AIDG but he was not charged.

“Tanungin ko kaya ang military pati ang police, bakit buhay pa ‘yang p**a** *na…Pulis itong g*g*ng ‘to ah,” Duterte said.
