(Eagle News)—–You don’t owe anything to politicians.
This was the reminder issued by President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, April 3, as candidates running in the May elections continued to campaign to win as many votes.
“Wala kayong utang na loob sa mga politiko. Lahat ‘yan pati suweldo nila, pera ninyo,” Duterte said in a PDP-Laban rally in Malabon.
“Kaya huwag kayong magsabi na ito si mayor ano, mag — galante. Anak ng jueteng, hindi ninyo alam kung saan ‘yan bumabawi,” he added.
Duterte again railed against corruption, and urged the public to report government officials and employees who were corrupt.
He said he would listen to them and would sanction these unscrupulous persons.
“Kasi puntahan mo ako, pakinggan kita. Tawagin ko ‘yung si director de p___. Sampalin ko ‘yan sa harap ninyo. Oo. O sipain ko. Iyan ang pangako ko,” Duterte said.
President Duterte has been vocal against corruption, one of the things he vowed to put an end to during his presidential campaign.
He has fired government officials who have been hurled corruption allegations.
His former Interior Secretary Mike Sueno, former National Irrigation chief Peter Laviña, former Budget Undersecretary Gertrudo de Leon, among others.
