QUEZON City, Philippines – President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has said he planned to enact the Freedom of Information (FOI) bill to give the media access to certain documents.
According to Martin Andanar, the incoming chief of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, Duterte will issue an executive order on the FOI bill to ensure government transparency.
Andanar assured members of the press that they would get access to the President, who would try to be transparent as ever to the media.
Duterte’s executive assistant, Christopher Go, had told members of the press that Duterte would also course all his announcements and press statements through state broadcaster PTV-4.
