Duterte to “subpoena” Trillanes’ mother over her alleged Navy transactions while the now-senator, her husband were in service

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has vowed to subpoena the mother of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV in connection with what he said were her transactions with the Philippine Navy while her husband and the now-senator were in service.

“We will initiate an investigation kagaya mo and I will subpoena your mother sa ayaw mo’t sa hindi. Baka sabihin mong walang power, there is. We also have the contempt power but we have to go to court,” Duterte said in a speech in Manila.

Duterte first accused Trillanes’ mother Estelita of conflict of interest in September last year.

Trillanes slammed Duterte, saying no probe had been initiated against his family at that time.

He also accused Duterte of dragging his 84-year-old mother in what he said was their own fight.
