Duterte to visit Ozamiz soon; announces P2-M bounty for each “abusive policeman” behind deaths of civilians found in mass grave

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte said on Wednesday he would visit Ozamiz sometime soon to “warn” policemen who he said killed at the behest of alleged narcopoliticians, the Parojinogs, that their actions would have consequences.

“I will not tell you when (I will visit) but I will warn policemen there. Those responsible for the death of six soldiers before, you will have your comeuppance,” Duterte said before members of the police force who were celebrating their 116th founding anniversary.

During the celebration, Duterte also announced a P2-million bounty for each of the “abusive” policemen he said was responsible for the killing of civilians found in a “cemetery” behind a barangay hall.

It was unclear though if the grave President Duterte was referring to was the supposed mass grave found by Ozamiz police in Barangay Capucao on Monday.

The alleged mass grave recently found by the police was reportedly used by members of the Martilyo Gang that has links to the Parojinogs.

“I will see to it that you will get your fair share..Dead or alive. Better dead,” he said of the policemen allegedly involved in the killings.

Duterte’s announcement came after he gave recognition to Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido, Ozamiz chief of police, who led the raid into the Parojinogs’ residences that saw Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. and several others killed.
