(Eagle News)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday, July 26, opened up the possibility of him visiting the United States.
Speaking before a conference in Davao, Duterte noted that US President Donald Trump, a “friend,” had invited him several times.
“It has something to do with the schedule,” he said.
He noted, however, that he could mo longer stand long trips.
He said it took some time for him to recover from a jet lag.
“It would take me almost two to three days to just stretch it out before I can function as a person inside,” he said.
The relations between the President and Trump are a big improvement from the ones he had with then-US President Barack Obama.
Duterte has been very vocal against Obama, whom he has accused of interfering in the Philippines’ affairs.
