(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday, Aug. 25, visited soldiers who were injured in a recent clash between the military and members of the Abu Sayyaf in Patikul, Sulu.
Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Lt. Col. Gerry Besana said the chief executive visited the over 20 soldiers who fought it out with around 40 members of the kidnap-for-ransom group in Barangay Langhub on Thursday, Aug. 23, in Camp General Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital.
The President thanked them and gave them gifts.
The firefight resulted in the death of Alpata Abdurasa, a member of the Abu Sayyaf, the military said.
