(Eagle News)– President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday (September 12) openly accused the Liberal Party (LP) and its stalwarts for the efforts of building a case against him, which can be used for impeachment proceedings.
“Huwag na tayong mag-bolahan. Sumakay itong si Obama. Sumakay si Ban Ki-moon. Alam mo kaninong laro ito? Yellow iyan,” Duterte stressed.
“They can think that if they can build a case against me, I’ll be impeached,” he added.
Yellow symbolized the color of Liberal Party, and was continuously used during the campaign of the previous president, Noynoy Aquino.
Duterte insisted that he does not care if the “yellow” forces are leading the way toward his impeachment.
“My God, I tell you frankly, when I assumed office, in this quest of mine, I prepared to lose my honor, my life and the presidency. It was not the presidency. Even if it fails with basic principles in my life. My values are not as good as yours, yun ang sabi mo. But these are my own values, I have a set of rules to live by. I have been true to that since I was a young prosecutor.”
