(Eagle News) – Earthquakes hit Rizal twice on August 8, Tuesday, past midnight.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), a 3.9-magnitude quake struck at 12:31 a.m., four kilometers southeast of Pililla.
Minutes later, another earthquake, this time a 4-magnitude one, struck the province at 1:28 a.m.
The epicenter was located five kilometers southwest of Pililla town at a depth of five kilometers.
The quakes were felt in nearby San Mateo, Montalban, Antipolo, Angono and Tanay, all in Rizal; in Lucban, Quezon; and in Quezon City, Metro Manila.
No aftershocks were expected.
