Easterlies affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

Extreme Northern Luzon also affected by northeast monsoon

(Eagle News)–The easterlies are affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the northeast monsoon is also affecting extreme Northern Luzon.

As a result, Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Flashfloods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains are possible.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands, meanwhile, will have cloudy skies with rains.

Ilocos Norte and Apayao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

According to PAGASA, Northern and Eastern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Eastern Visayas and the northeastern portion of Mindanao will have moderate winds and coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
