WASHINGTON DC (Eagle News) — The Lincoln Memorial is a reminder to the American people to always strive toward an equal, united, and free society. The Memorial overlooks the National Mall in Washington DC and the US Capitol, where the Worldwide Walk Against Poverty will start off on May 5, 2018. Some onlookers say that Lincoln’s hands suggest his demeanor. One is clenched suggesting strength and personal determination, the other one is open and relaxed reminding the observer of LIncoln’s warmth and compassionate nature – an interesting insight to the man dubbed as the Savior of the Union.
