(Eagle News) — The Employer’s Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) vowed to help the Department of Labor and Employment in its campaign to end contractualization in the country.
In fact, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said “we are now in possession of a proposed memorandum understanding submitted by ECOP.”
“Pagka tatanggapin ang MOU na ito ay maaaring magkaroon ng paglalagda and this will result in the regularization of 300,000 contractual workers,” Bello said in a phone patch interview over Net25’s Agila Balita Alas Dose.
According to Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, the department is eyeing to double the number of regularized workers before the end of the year.
