QUEZON City, Philippines – The previous May 9 election was pinpointed as the reason why the Luzon grid is suffering from widespread power outages. During a Senate Committee on Energy hearing, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, due to the elections, the power generation companies were not able to conduct their scheduled maintenance and was only able to do so recently, resulting in several brownouts.
