Senate minority leader Juan Ponce Enrile once again turned to the Supreme Court to seek a status quo ante order or temporary restraining order against the suspension imposed on him by the Sandiganbayan.
In his motion, the 90-year-old lawmaker insisted that he has not been convicted of any crime, and therefore should be enjoying his “full civil and political rights”.
Enrile added, he could not perform his sworn duties as senator of the Republic because of the suspension that was imposed on him since September 1.
The senator remains in hospital detention for plunder and other graft charges over the alleged P10-billion peso pork barrel scam
