Senator Juan Ponce Enrile questions former Philippine National Police-Special Action Force head, Dir. Getulio Napenas during the re-opening of the hearing on the Mamasapano case at the Senate, where he asked the involvement of President Aquino in the giving of directions in the plan.
In the hearing, Enrile also asked former PNP chief. Director General Purisima of the $5 million reward offered by the United States government for the capture of Marwan.
Enrile asked for details from the former PNP officials.
Purisima on Wednesday morning denied that President Benigno Aquino III was involved in the planning of Oplan Exodus, the covert operation to neutralize Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli “Marwan” bin Hir in Mamasapano, Maguindanao on January 25 last year.
But Enrile questioned why Purisima was even being informed about the operational details of the case, when he was already suspended at the time.
Purisima answered that he was “supposed to be giving information also to the Chief of Staff”… “and also to the President.”
“I passed information to the President. I already learned about the operation at 5:45 in the morning, when Napenas was calling me,” he told Enrile.
