(Eagle News) — Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea on Tuesday denied that he gave legal advice to the counsel of Janet Lim Napoles.
“Why would I give a legal advice to a lawyer for his client?” Medialdea, a lawyer by profession, said in a message to reporters.
“If I were his client, I will fire him,” Medialdea added.
On Monday, lawyer Stephen David said that he met in Malacanang with Medialdea and Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre, who he said advised him to file a motion seeking for the transfer of Napoles from Camp Bagong Diwa where she is detained.
This was in light of Napoles’ provisional admission to the Department of Justice’s Witness Protection Program after she executed another affidavit allegedly containing additional details about the P10-billion pork barrel scam.
The DOJ said it was still assessing Napoles’ affidavit so it could be determined if she was eligible for the WPP’s full coverage.
