(Eagle News) — Senator Francis Escudero on Thursday alleged there were “back-up” SD memory cards used in the 2016 elections that were not “mirror images” of the original ones.
Speaking before the joint oversight committee, Escudero said his witness, a former poll official, would corroborate this.
He said the witness would appear in the next hearing.
“Ang tanong, ilan sa back up drive ang pinadala? At nasaan yung record ng back-up drive? Apparently walang ganung record ang Comelec kaya hiniling namin na maibigay sa committee para makumpara at mapag-aralan ng husto,” he said.
Acting Comelec chairperson Christian Robert Lim said they would look into Escudero’s claim.
“Ang sa akin, pag hindi nag-match ang main at saka backup, ibig sabihin ‘di makalabas ng resulta ‘yung machine,” he, however, noted.
