It was an emotional scene as Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Director General Leonardo Espina announced the results of the medico legal of several Special Action Force (SAF) in the bloody incident which occurred in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last month.
“We are all for peace process, because most and foremost we are all peace keepers. We seek a very clear answer from the other party of the peace process, ano ba itong overkill na ginawa ninyo sa mga tao ko. Hindi ako nakatulog kagabi nang malaman ko ang medico legal,” Espina said.
All throughout the hearing, emotions ran high at the committee inquiry hall as congressmen disputed the showing of the viral video of a Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) man shooting one of the SAF members that was identified and confirmed as PO2 Joseph Sagonoy.
PNP-Special Action Force Chief Director Getulio Napeñas broke down as he was listening to Espina’s speech regarding the death of several men of SAF.
The Senate will continue the probe today. Chairmain Mohagher Iqbal testified earlier.
