(Eagle News)– “Ester” has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Saturday, June 16.
Pagasa said however that it was still monitoring a shallow low pressure area that was located in the southern part of China.
The weather agency said that although the shallow LPA that could become an LPA was not expected to enter PAR, it would enhance the southwest monsoon and bring rains in parts of the country.
As it is, Pagasa said “Ester,” which is located 635 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes, was still enhancing the southwest monsoon, causing rains in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales,Pampanga, Tarlac, Bataan and the Babuyan Group of Islands.
A gale warning has also been hoisted over Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan, Cagayan, Ilocos, Isabel, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales and Bataan, which means sea travel is risky in those areas.
Pagasa said Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon including Calabarzon and Marinduque are slated to experience light to moderate rains.
There will be improved weather conditions in the Cagayan Valley, Bicol and Palawan, which may experience only isolated thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
