Experts say Manila not ready for earthquake

MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — Expert urban planner Architect Felino Falafox Jr. said that Metro Manila is not prepared for a magnitude 7 earthquake, adding that most buildings in the metro will be destroyed when an earthquake of such magnitude hits the city.

Falafox recommended the conducting of structural audits on buildings, bridges and other infrastructures to find out if said structures can withstand such an earthquake.
