CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, July 10 (PIA) — Intense rains brought by the typhoon Falcon-enhanced southwest monsoon has displaced around 251 families or 1,254 persons in Central Luzon.
“From this figure, 239 families or 1,189 persons are currently being served in 13 evacuation centers in the towns of Dinalupihan and Mariveles in Bataan and Meycauayan City in Bulacan,” Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Chair Josefina Timoteo said.
Moreover, RDRRMC reported 1.5 ft. flood in Almacen in Hermosa, Bataan while the San Isidro National Road in Mariveles town is submerged in 9-10 inch flood.
Relative to this, Department of Health (DOH) has prepositioned P274, 699 worth of family kits, hygiene kits, water containers, drugs, medicines, and supplies in Bulacan and Zambales while P15 million worth of medicines, drugs, and logistics are on standby at their Regional Office in the City of San Fernando.
Earlier, DOH confirmed three casualties in Meycauayan City.
75-year old Demitrio Ylasco and one-year old Irene Lumugho perished due to collapsed walls while five-year old Aljon Lapitag Jr. was a victim of drowning.
Meanwhile, several local government units have called of classes today in all levels including Bataan and the cities of Meycauayan, San Jose del Monte, Malolos, Mabalacat, Olongapo, and Tarlac.
Classes up to high school, on the other hand, have been suspended in the cities of Angeles and San Fernando. (CLJD-PIA 3)
