World Boxing Organization (WBO) new welterweight champion, Australian boxer Jeff Horn talks about his style in fighting Filipino boxing great Manny Pacquiao in a press conference after the fight.
“I just felt like he couldn’t get ahold of my gap and I was fainting a lot, trying to upset his rhythm and I think that was working throughout the majority of that fight,” he said.
Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, meanwhile felt that it was time for the FIlipino boxer to retire.
Roach said he would consider advising Pacquiao to retire after a glittering 22-year professional career in which he won world titles at an unprecedented eight weight divisions.
“I’m going to talk to Manny about maybe calling it a day, maybe this is it,” Roach said.
In another interview after the fight, the Hall of Fame trainer said he thought the fight was close.
“I thought it was a pretty close fight, I thought Manny had a really good round in the 9th, maybe a two-point round and I just told him: ‘Manny, give me one more of them, the fight’s over’ but he just couldn’t do it,” he said.
