“Felix Manalo” movie goers continue to crowd every cinema in every mall nationwide, usually literally taking most, if not all theaters in malls.
Movie goers, Iglesia Ni Cristo members or not, have been rushing to cinemas every day since the premiere prompting theaters to take almost all slot in the malls.
It even had later than the usual last screening, aside from the early opening time, to accommodate the viewers.
After breaking two Guinness World Records on its premiere last Sunday, October 4 that was held at the Philippine arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, the movie also got the record for the highest-grossing non-holiday opening of all time in the country. After breaking records here, “Felix Manalo” will now be shown in cinemas abroad.
In Singapore, it is set to be shown on October 24 at the Kallang Theatre Auditorium.
In Hong Kong, tickets are already sold — which is due to be shown on October 17.
In the United States the date for the movie screening is scheduled on October 30 at the AMC Rivercenter 11 with Alamo Imax.
According to an article online, the biopic film outdid the historical film “Heneral Luna” that had earlier stirred the social media, as “Felix Manalo” earned 50 million in a day, which was more than thrice the earnings (15 million pesos) of “Heneral Luna” on its first week.
