Filipinos in Hawaii told to prepare for Hurricane Lane

(Eagle News)–Filipinos in Hawaii were told to prepare with Hurricane Lane expected to bring  heavy rains.

The Philippine Consulate General recommended the supply of basic emergency needs good for 14 days.

“Filipino nationals in the affected areas are advised to inform the Consulate General so it could update their relatives in the Philippines of their conditions,” Consul General Joselito Jimeno said.

The Filipinos were also urged to comply with Hawaii State and federal government authorities.

The Consulate said it would remain open unless there was an advisory for it to remain closed.

“It also stands ready to provide assistance to anyone who will be affected by the hurricane,” Jimeno said.
