QUEZON City, Philippines (January 22) – Having trouble motivating yourself, particularly when faced with an important task? Here’s how you can motivate yourself!
Learn to Make Choices
Should I shift to the another course or just stick with my course now? Should I go to my work or just stay sleeping here? Should I tell her secrets or choose to be quiet? Our life surrounds us with a variety of choices and what we are today is the fruit of all the decisions we make.
Some of you might wonder if all your choices matters to what you’re going to be in the future or how far you’re going to reach. Yes, it really matters. Your choices are connected with your goals. But, as our life is filled with difficult situations, sometimes, we are confused on what to choose and feel troubled with making decisions.
According to the grcne.com, some people have trouble with making decisions because they have trouble setting priorities. To them every choice looks about the same, and there is no way to tell what makes one better than another. Some of these folks then impulsively pick a choice. Others can’t pick anything at all because they feel they have no basis for picking. Both groups of people need help in learning how to weigh pros and cons, look at practical aspects, see the longer-term advantages, or note the big picture. Prioritizing into different types of categories can be helpful. Rank or order choices by feasibility. Put them in order of how much fun they will be to do. But there are some people, when faced by options, they choose not to act. They are afraid of the consequences of making the wrong decision. To them, there is a mysterious right decision that they need to find, and they haven’t a clue about how to do so, or what the decision might be. The idea that they should pick something based on preference or pros and cons is just as frightening. People who have trouble making decisions fear mistakes. They hate being wrong.
Who am I? What do I want in life? And where am I going? These are the questions in life that all of us must honestly answer. Why? It’s one way for us to learn how to choose. It might help us if we settle our list of goals and jot down all our areas of interest and the things we don’t like. We need to make sure that every time we choose, we have a purpose to that and it is in line with our priorities in life. It might be because of our own benefits or for other’s sake. But, as we are free to choose our course of action some forgets the fact that we are not free to choose the consequences of our choices. That’s why there are some who decide too fast not thinking the possible outcome that their choices may bring. These kinds of people most likely end up regretting their decisions and didn’t come up with the satisfaction they want. They always depend on someone that will decide for them because they are afraid of making mistakes. The reason why is because they didn’t set up their long-term goals. Just one thing, we need to fully understand that once we choose a thing, there are consequences to be responsible of.
It’s a good thing that some have already achieved the contentment and happiness of life they are dreaming for because of the choices they make. Remember, that you have the freedom to choose and you have the responsibility to its consequences.
