Two survivors of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) of the Mamasapano incident were invited as resource persons in the Senate today for its first hearing.
Their names were not disclosed to the public because of their physical condition.
According to Senator Grace Poe, Head of Senate Committee on public order, “The two members of the SAF who survived the mis-encounter incident are (here in the senate) and we will conduct separate meetings for them.”
Resigned PNP Director General Allan Purisima, relieved SAF Director Leonardo Getulio Napeñas, PNP officer in charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina, Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Gregorio Pio Catapang, Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, was also invited to face the investigation.
The Senate also invited Mohagher Iqbal, chief negotiator for the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), but as of Sunday, there is no confirmation that he is to face the hearing. (MRFB)
