(Eagle News)—-National Capital Region Police Office chief Guillermo Eleazar on Wednesday, March 6, relieved all members of the drug enforcement unit of a Pasay police station following the arrest of a policeman allegedly involved in kidnap-for-ransom activities.
Relieved after the arrest of Police Corporal Anwar Encarnacion Nasser by the Counter-Intelligence Task Force in an entrapment operation early in the day, around 4 a.m., were members of the Pasay police station 1 drug unit.
Nasser’s three alleged cohorts, Lieutenant Leonardo Frades, officer-in-charge of the unit; Patrolman Anthony Fernandez; and Sergeant Rigor Octaviano managed to escape and ran away with the P100,000 marked money.
The operation at station 1 was done after the live-in partner of the man whom the group “arrested” complained the policemen were asking P100,000 in exchange for her partner’s release.
The CITF also found out the “arrest” of the drug suspect was not written in the police blotter, nor was it recorded in any other police document.
The four policemen are facing criminal and administrative charges.
