(Eagle News)–Former ambassador Rodolfo Severino Jr. has passed away.
The Department of Foreign Affairs made the confirmation in a statement.
Severino was 82 years old.
Severino, the father of news personality Howie Severino, served as Asean secretary-general from 1998 to 2002, only the second Filipino to have gotten the post.
He also served as envoy to Malaysia, and Consul General to Houston, among others.
His wake will be held at the Heritage Park in Taguig City starting Sunday, April 21.
