(Eagle News) — The prosecution has dropped former Bureau of Corrections officer in charge Rafael Ragos as a respondent in the drug trafficking complaint filed against him, Senator Leila de Lima and Ronnie Dayan.

According to the prosecution, Ragos, who already testified against De Lima in a House inquiry in 2016, is, after all, set to turn state witness.

In his testimony, Ragos said he went to the senator’s house in Paranaque in two separate instances in 2012, and delivered a total of P10 million.

He said Dayan received the money that was to fund the then-justice secretary’s senatorial campaign in 2016.

Only  De Lima and his former driver, Dayan, are now named as respondents  in the amended information dated Nov. 10, 2017 submitted by the prosecution at Branch 204 of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court.

Through the information, the prosecution sought to hold De Lima and Dayan liable for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, particularly sections 5, 28 and 26(b).

They are set to be arraigned  on Jan. 24, 2018.
