(Eagle News) — Former Presidential Commission on Good Government Chair Camilo Sabio was arrested on Tuesday based on outstanding warrants issued by the Sandiganbayan for graft and malversation of funds.
The 82-year-old Sabio — who is facing the charges in the fourth and fifth divisions — was taken to the National Bureau of Investigation in Manila, where he underwent the booking process.
The Sandiganbayan sentenced Sabio to serve a maximum of 12 years imprisonment for the allegedly anomalous P12-million lease of 11 vehicles in 2007 and 2009 when he was still the PCGG chair in June.
At that time, he said he would file an appeal.
