(Eagle News) — President-elect Bongbong Marcos has chosen former Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo to be his special assistant.
Marcos made the announcement on Thursday, May 26, in a press conference after his proclamation as the country’s 17th president.
He will take the helm at noon on June 30, when President Rodrigo Duterte steps down after six years in office.
According to Marcos, he believes Lagdameo will do a good job, noting that “we’ve known each other since he was a child.”
“He was young, he knows me very well. He’s been with us, working with me for the past ten years,” he said.
Senator Bong Go held the position under President Duterte’s term until he ran for a Senate seat in 2019 and won.
