(Eagle News) — Singer Freddie Aguilar filed his certificate of candidacy for the 2019 elections on Thursday, Oct. 11, hoping to win a seat in the Senate.
Aguilar was accompanied by his lawyer Lorie San Pedro during the filing at the Commission on Elections in Manila.
Aguilar had already expressed his intent to run for senator in previous media interviews, saying he was convinced by citizens to do so.
Aguilar is known for his songs that promote love for country and other Filipino values.
