(Eagle News) — Gilas Pilipinas took a beating from Lebanon on Saturday, dashing hopes of finishing fifth in the prestigious Fiba Asia Cup.
The Lebanese proved too physical for the white shirts, who struggled to score points in the first few minutes of the game.
The Filipinos managed to reduce the lead in the next quarters, after adjusting their defensive strategy, and shooting back to back baskets.
But the Lebanese proved to be quite a contender, as they managed to get around Gilas’ adjustments and making shots in the fourth.
Lebanon’s lead increased to double digits again, making it difficult for Gilas to regain their footing.
The final score: 106-87.
