‘Glenda’ makes presence felt in Olongapo City, Zambales

Residents in this city and in the whole province are starting to get feel the fury of typhoon Glenda.

Based on the report of the Olongapo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, strong winds with rains now prevail throughout the city and in the province toppling some trees, tarpaulis and billboards as well as damaging house roofs.

Angie Layug, head of the Olongapo City DRRMO, said residents in the coastal villages of Barrero and Kalaklan were evacuated for possible storm surge.

Preemptive evacuation were also implemented in barangay Balaybay in Castillejos and barangay Poblacion South in Sta. Cruz, Zambales.

Meanwhile, electric power supply was also cut off since 4 a.m. Wednesday due to strong winds.
