Gordon unfazed over Trillanes’ plan to file a plunder case vs him; says Trillanes only “hungry for publicity”

(Eagle News) — Bring it on.

This was what Senator Richard Gordon had to say to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who said he would file a plunder case against the Senate blue ribbon committee chair in connection with his alleged misuse of Red Cross funds.

“There he goes again. He’s done it before, he’s gonna do it again. Let him file the suit. I’m gonna account for every centavo,” Gordon said in an interview over CNN Philippines.

According to Gordon, he has “done nothing but improve the lot of our people,” also through Red Cross, where he has volunteered for 50 years.

Asked what the motive was for Trillanes’ filing, Gordon said: “This is a guy who is hungry for publicity all the time.”

“By now you should be used to the chit chat of this guy. He wastes the time of the Senate,” Gordon said.

Earlier, Trillanes said he would file the plunder case against Gordon on Wednesday.

Trillanes has also filed an ethics complaint against the Senate blue ribbon committee chair for alleged “unparliamentary acts, language and/or conduct.”

This was after Gordon filed an ethics complaint against the former Navy man on the same grounds, following a heated exchange between them during an Aug. 31 Senate hearing into the P6.4-billion entry of shabu shipment in the country via Customs express lanes in May, and into corruption in the Bureau of Customs.

During the hearing, Gordon was irked after Trillanes called the blue ribbon committee a “komite de abswelto.”

Gordon then said Trillanes should be held liable for his “unparliamentary” comments that also include labeling senators “puppets” of the Duterte administration.
