QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The government is finalizing the details of the Php 20-billion master plan for the rehabilitation of Marawi City.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said that President Rodrigo Duterte wants to implement the rehabilitation plan immediately once the fight between the military and the Maute group ends.
“The master plan is ongoing now. So after this incident, we’ll be ready. Naka-standby po lahat ng equipment ng DPWH. Currently, we are coordinating with our ARMM counterparts in order to implement very quickly,” Villar in a statement said.
“It was done by experts. It will be utilizing the latest in terms of urban planning, (and) it will be very efficient. We are ready to mobilize the resources of all agencies so that the rehabilitation of Marawi will be done at the soonest possible time,” Villar said.
Villar also said that the President doesn’t want a repeat of the delay in the rehabilitation of eastern Visayas after super typhoon Yolanda.
