(Eagle News) — Grab Philippines will appeal the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board order that upholds the P10-million fine imposed on the Transport Network Company for its P2 per minute of travel time charge.
This was despite the LTFRB reversing its order directing Grab to reimburse its passengers for the fee from June 5, 2017 to April 19, 2018.
“Grab will exhaust all administrative and legal measures until this decision is overturned or resolved with finality,” Leo Gonzales, Grab public affairs head, said.
He said the appeal would be filed before the Department of Transportation.
He also expressed optimism the suspension on the P2 per minute of travel time charge would be lifted.
It was PBA Rep. Jericho Nograles who said the charges were “illegal.”
But Grab denied this, saying the LTFRB knew of the charges, which it said were intended to boost the earnings of its drivers.
