(Eagle News)–The Commission on Appointments on Wednesday, May 30, confirmed the appointment of Menardo Guevarra as Justice Secretary.
Guevarra’s confirmation came a day after Bernadette Romulo-Puyat was confirmed as Tourism Secretary.
Guevarra was deputy executive director before he was appointed to head the justice department, whose then-secretary, Vitaliano Aguirre III, resigned following public indignation over a DOJ panel of prosecutors dismissal of drug charges filed against self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa and others.
