Heaviest for a May snowfall: Spring snowstorm hits Cheyenne, Wyoming USA

WYOMING, USA (Eagle News) — Residents of Cheyenne, Wyoming woke up to thick snow covering their cars and pathways on Friday morning, May 19. This kind of unusual weather is actually more common than you might think.

Arvin Ruadil, a resident of 10 years of Cheyenne, said, “This is mostly normal for us where we get snowfall even in June. However this is the heaviest we had for a May snowfall.”

“The mountains reportedly got or are getting 30 inches of snow. Here in Cheyenne its about 12 to 16 inches. It’s wet, heavy snow.”

The National Weather Service issued a WINTER WEATHER warning for Southeastern Wyoming which is in effect until 3 p.m. local time.
