(Eagle News) — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Friday, June 15, issued a heavy rainfall warning over some areas in the country, as the southwest monsoon continue to be enhanced by Tropical Depression “Ester.”
As of 11 a.m., a yellow rainfall warning is up over Bataan and Zambales, which means flooding is expected in low-lying areas.
According to Pagasa, heavy rains with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are also expected over Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna and Batangas within the next three hours.
So far, Pagasa said these conditions were already being felt in Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Pasay, Makati, Malabon, Valenzuela and Navotas in Metro Manila; Cavite and Bacoor in Cavite; Tarlac, Capas, bamban in Tarlac; Gen Tinio, Laur, Sta. Rosa, Gabaldon, Penaranda and San leonardo in Nueva Ecija; and in Pampanga.
Pagasa said the situation may persist within three hours and “may affect nearby areas.”
“The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions,” Pagasa said.
