Honasan formally appointed as DICT chief

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has formally appointed Senator Gregorio Honasan as the new chief of the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

Honasan’s appointment came after the National Telecommunications Commission formally declared Mislatel as the third major telco player in the country.

Mislatel is composed of Dennis Uy’s Udenna Corp. and Chelsea Logistics Holdings Corp., Mindanao Islamatic Telephone Co.,  and China Telecom.

It beat the likes of PT&T and Sear.

Earlier. acting DICT chief Eliseo Rio asked he be allowed to finish the process declaring the third major telco player before he steps down.
