House hearing on BBL, snubbed by Cabinet, AFP, and PNP officials

QUEZON City, April 20 (Eagle News) — Members of the Cabinet security cluster, as well as top military officials have snubbed the resumption of the hearings of the House of Representatives on the proposed peace process.

At the resumption of the hearing in Congress on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), all six resource persons invited for the hearing did not show up.

The officials invited were Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, National Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Philippine National Police (PNP) officer in charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina, Armed Forces chief of staff Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., Board of Inquiry (BOI) chair and PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Director Benjamin Magalong and Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Deles.

The officials invited to the hearing were supposed to share their inputs, comments, and suggestions on the provision of the Bangsamoro Bill.

However, the six resource persons only sent representatives to the House hearing.
